At the commencement of my 365 day challenge, I had little understanding of what lay ahead. As Tony Robbins aptly asserts, “The path to success is to take massive, determined action.” With this guiding principle in mind, I established an ambitious objective: to record and release a podcast episode each day for an entire year.
While I didn’t complete the full year of my 365 day challenge, I recorded 108 episodes straight, and the experience changed my life.
I share this story to inspire you to take the first step toward your big, daunting goal. It doesn’t matter if you finish perfectly; it matters that you begin.
The Power of Starting Bold
Every big dream starts with a decision to begin, no matter how daunting it feels. When I committed to this 365 day challenge, I had no roadmap. I didn’t know how I’d generate ideas, record daily, or stay consistent. But I jumped in anyway.
Lesson 1: Bold goals force you to grow in ways you can’t predict.
Lesson 2: You’ll learn and improve through action, not just planning.
Lesson 3: Even when you fall short, you’ll be miles ahead of where you started.
Why I Had to Pause My Challenge
Life doesn’t always go according to plan. After 108 episodes, I had to pause my challenge due to personal circumstances, including the loss of my mother. It was a deeply challenging time, but looking back, I’m proud of how far I got.
The key takeaway? It’s not about perfection. It’s about progress.
What I Learned From 108 Days of Podcasting
Creating daily podcasts taught me more about myself than I ever expected.
Consistency builds confidence: Showing up daily helped me realise I was capable of more than I imagined.
Creativity grows through action: The more I created, the more ideas flowed.
Community matters: Sharing my journey inspired others, which kept me motivated.
Although I didn’t complete the entire year, the lessons from this challenge are unforgettable. It truly was one of the most fulfilling experiences I’ve had and crucial in boosting my confidence in content creation, sales, coaching calls, and public speaking overall. It was also a key part in me feeling pride in what I was doing again!

Why You Should Start Your Own Year Long Challenge
Your dream might be different from mine, but the principle is the same. Starting a business, writing a book, or learning something new all require taking the first step.
- Start before you feel ready.
- Embrace failure as part of the process.
- Celebrate the progress, not just the end goal.
You’ll be amazed at who you become when you step outside your comfort zone.
